Put it in front of your neighbors
Events, news, stories and local businesses come from the people who live here. Send yours to one Wave or all of them, from one place. It is free, and a real editor reads every one.

It goes live
On the site, in the free app and, for the best of it, in the Friday email. We let you know when it is up.
Want more reach? Boost it
- Event boost, $25: One event, featured on the calendar of every region you chose for two weeks.
- Sponsored article, $395 per region: A full feature written with that publication's newsroom, clearly labeled sponsored, with a permanent home in its archive.
Offered after you submit, paid by card. Want to be on the site all month? See advertising plans.
Before you send
Does it cost anything to submit?
No. Events, news tips, stories and business listings are free to send and free to publish. The boost is optional and only for people who want more reach.
How long until it is published?
An editor checks every submission, usually within two business days. Events with the date, time, place and a description go up fastest. You get an email when it is live.
Can I send it to more than one region?
Yes. Tick every Wave it belongs in: Long Island Wave, Gold Coast Wave, New York City Wave. Each newsroom reviews its own copy.
I already sent our press release to a list. Do I need to fill in the form too?
We read it either way. Forward it to the address for its type, or to submit@wavelocals.com, and we will read the details out of it and send you a link to the form already filled in. Checking that link is the fastest way to get it published.
What does a boost do?
An event boost ($25) features your event on the calendar of every region you chose for two weeks. A sponsored article ($395 per region) is a full feature written with the newsroom, clearly labeled sponsored. You pay only after you submit, and an editor still checks it first.
Will you change what I send?
We edit for clarity, length and accuracy, and we may ask you a question before it runs. We never change the facts of your event or put words in your mouth.
